Here in BC it’s pretty much been a deep freeze the 14th. We just had our third snowfall, and it’s still coming down outside my window. Last night, the low at Vancouver International was -15.2C, the lowest low since January 29, 1969. And it’s only today that is the first day of winter!
This cold snap is expected to continue, albeit slightly warmer. More snow is coming and a white Christmas is expected. It could well be the first day to have a country-wide white Christmas 1971. While Canada is sometimes stereotyped to be nothing but a “few acres of snow”, the current weather makes it seem more like a lot of hectares of snow.
Now excuse me while I get another sweater and drink some hot chocolate.
